Make Your Own Mushroom Log!
Grow your own healthy organic mushrooms! This hands-on workshop will have us drilling, hammering, and waxing logs together to "plant" shiitake mushroom spores in logs. Each participant will leave with three logs inoculated with shiitake mushroom spores.

About the event
Grow your own healthy organic mushrooms! This hands-on workshop will have us drilling, hammering, and waxing logs together to "plant" shiitake mushroom spores in logs. Each participant will leave with three logs inoculated with shiitake mushroom spores. (It will take about a year and a half to two years before we see the first mushrooms fruit)
Dress for working OUTDOORS. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are a MUST. All tools provided. We will be working with power tools, fireplace-sized logs, and hot wax. This event is for adults 18 and over.

Participants will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement/liability waiver at the time of the event. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Dress for the weather; work gloves are recommended. we will be working with drills, hammers, and hot wax. We will be working OUTSIDE with access to indoor restroom facilities. You may bring your own snacks and beverages.
